Every day MAGA, Elon Musk and Mike Johnson try to rip down the achievements of American democracy: Medicaid, Social Security, Head Start, vaccine science, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, NIH, Due Process, freedom of speech, ethics laws, judicial independence and the separation of church and state.
We’re building a nationwide movement and coordinated political strategy to stop the demolition of American democracy and government.
In Congress, I’m coordinating the House Democrats in filing amicus briefs and other legal actions to counter the lawlessness of Trump and his enablers. We have more than two hundred Democratic House Members involved, and the movement to stop Trump in court is winning every day. There are now more than 100 preliminary injunctions and temporary restraining orders entered against the Administration, and we are standing up every day against MAGA efforts to impeach the federal judges blocking their unlawful actions.
Meantime, we are working with civil society groups and Democrats across America to build a national popular movement that will defend strong democracy and freedom and lay the groundwork for sweeping electoral victory next year.
I’ve appeared at more than 50 Town Halls and Democratic Rallies—working not just in Maryland’s 8th, but in red, purple and blue districts all over America to build political muscle against Trump’s reign of terror and error.
I see new leadership emerging wherever I go, fervor to defend and expand democracy, passion to protect American freedom, and determination to prevent Trump and MAGA from destroying Medicaid, Social Security and everything that protects the well-being of the American majority.
We are in daily pitched battle in the political fight of our lives, but the people are showing up every day to defend our values and redeem the great promise of America.
Will you join us?
Hang tough and stay close.
With deep and abiding gratitude,
Jamie Raskin
