Save the USPS before Trump sells it off

Save the USPS before Trump sells it off

Save The Post Office Coalition

Trump’s scheme is simple: rip apart the most profitable parts of USPS and sell them off piece by piece to greedy Wall Street big shots. We’ve seen this playbook before--undercut the agency, undermine public trust, then hand it over to corporations that don’t give a damn about rural communities, veterans, seniors, or low-income families who rely on affordable, universal service.

Thankfully, there’s bipartisan pushback. Two simple, powerful resolutions, H.Res.70 and S.Res.147, have been introduced in Congress explicitly opposing USPS privatization. If passed, these resolutions would create a public record that Congress is against Trump’s privatization push and serve as a reminder of public support for USPS if his cronies try to strike again.

So far Congress has received over 140,000 letters from constituents like you, demanding members take immediate action to stop Trump’s plan to privatize the USPS. This is public pressure at work. And we can’t stop now.

Support is growing. Nearly 200 lawmakers have signed on, including both Republicans and Democrats who understand that privatizing the post office would be a disaster. Senator Mark Warner, (VA) and Representatives Sewell, (AL) Pettersen, (CO)Garamendi, (CA) Figures, (AL) Garcia, (TX) Escobar, (TX) and McClellan (VA) have all signed on since we began sending letters. We need to go all in to get every last member of Congress on board, because the future of the USPS is on the line.

Demand that Congress co-sponsor and pass the resolutions to stop Trump’s USPS privatization scheme now.

sign and send

The USPS isn’t only a public service. It’s a lifeline. It delivers prescription medications, ballots, Social Security checks, and essentials to more than 168 million homes, including rural and Indigenous communities, and underserved neighborhoods where private companies refuse to go because it's not profitable.

It’s also one of the nation’s largest employers of veterans and has a long history of being a pathway to the Black middle class: nearly 30% of postal workers are Black, and over 40% are women.

When Wall Street talks about “efficiency,” what they really mean is gutting jobs, slashing services, and cashing in on our public infrastructure to make a quick buck.

We’re working with the American Postal Workers Union and other allies to flood Congress with letters, calls, and action. The people are speaking out. But Congress must listen.

Send your letter now to tell Congress: Pass the resolutions to save the USPS and stop Trump’s privatization plan.

Together, let’s protect the people’s Post Office and stop Trump’s privatization plan.
