The threat these poisonous seeds pose could not be more dire: scientists just warned that honeybee colonies in the U.S. are projected to decline by up to 70% THIS YEAR!

Yet despite the clear destruction that pesticide coated seeds cause, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has never regulated them as pesticides under federal law. Companies like Monsanto have taken full advantage of this massive loophole: 95% of corn seeds in the U.S. now come coated with neonics!

As the plant grows, the neonics travel up its circulatory system and into its leaves, pollen, and nectar. Pollinators then ingest the poison, causing paralysis or even death. But the vast majority of the pesticide coating actually comes off the seed after planting, contaminating our earth.

Lack of regulation has meant that use has skyrocketed, which is why pesticide giants have thrown massive resources at the case to try to beat us in court and ensure that they can continue selling this poison unhindered.
