As a teacher, I have seen firsthand how food insecurity affects kids. I’ve watched children come into my classroom hungry, struggling to concentrate because they haven’t had enough to eat.
That is why when I learned that MAGA Republicans, under Trump’s leadership, cut 1 billion dollars from food bank and school meal funding, all while giving tax breaks to billionaires, I was not just upset – I was enraged.
Food insecurity is not a partisan issue. Every child deserves to be able to eat at school. Every family deserves the security of knowing they can feed their loved ones without making impossible choices. But instead, MAGA’s priorities have been clear: take from the most vulnerable in our society and give tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans.
It is wrong. It is unjust. And it is unforgivable. When we turn our backs on our children, our families, and our farmers, we are turning our backs on what makes this country great: our shared values of compassion, fairness, and opportunity for all.
This is exactly why we need to flip this seat. If MAGA is willing to harm the most vulnerable in our community to fatten the pockets of billionaires, we need to do everything in our power to stop them. We cannot allow them to continue this assault on working families.
Will you stand with me in this fight by splitting a contribution between my campaign and Gay Valimont? We have just a few weeks left to make our voices heard. Every contribution helps us power our campaign and fight back against the lies and attacks being thrown our way.
