Good morning! Today is March 19th and here is your morning news rundown. Before I continue, my work is not funded by billionaires or ad companies. It’s funded by you. With that, here is all the news you missed:

  • Ross Gerber, a top Tesla investor, has called on Elon Musk to step down as CEO. He believes the company is facing a serious crisis as its stock prices and sales continue to decline. Speaking to Sky News, he stated, "They have the best electric vehicles out there... the company's reputation is just being destroyed by Elon Musk."

  • The Trump administration acknowledged last night that many individuals sent to perform hard labor in a Salvadoran prison under the Alien Enemies Act have no criminal record. Shockingly, they argue that their lack of information about these individuals is reason enough to deny them due process. The only basis for the deportation of many of the individuals was a single rose tattoo.

  • A federal judge has denied the Trump administration's motion to dismiss Mahmoud Khalil's legal challenge to his arrest by immigration authorities. The judge also ordered that the case be transferred to New Jersey, where Khalil was detained at the time his attorneys filed the lawsuit.

  • The Trump administration is ramping up its criticism of Judge Boasberg in a new filing, urging him to halt his order requiring more details on flights to El Salvador. They even suggest they may invoke the state secrets privilege to withhold the information.

  • U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan has temporarily halted the Trump administration’s attempt to revoke $14 billion in climate grants that were awarded under the Biden administration.

  • A federal judge has issued an indefinite block on the enforcement of Donald Trump’s executive order, which sought to ban transgender individuals from serving openly in the military.

  • El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele has issued a warning, stating, "The U.S. is facing a judicial coup." Elon Musk agreed.

  • Jasmine Mooney, 35, claims she was shackled and held in ICE custody for 12 days after immigration officials flagged issues with her visa application paperwork.

  • Louisiana has carried out the execution of death row inmate Jessie Hoffman using nitrogen gas.

  • When asked why he’s tougher on Canada than U.S. adversaries, Trump responded, "Only because it's meant to be our 51st state. One of the nastiest countries to deal with is Canada." — Fox interview

  • The Texas Senate has passed controversial bills that mandate the display of the Ten Commandments in public school classrooms and permit prayer in schools.

  • Declassified documents reveal that the Secret Service, CIA, and FBI had no involvement in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

  • According to recent reports, the Trump administration is considering relinquishing its command role within NATO.

See you this evening.
