When asked if he would raise it, Trump acknowledged it was "very low" but avoided committing to any specific action. He argued that higher wages, like those in California, lead to business closures but ignored the potential economic benefits of increased consumer spending from higher wages. Ultimately, Trump’s stance appeared noncommittal, acknowledging the problem while signaling he plans on doing nothing to address it.
