The truth is that UHC has the highest denied claims, and they are not ashamed to post their salaries and profits, while people suffer and go broke because of medical bills. That's a travesty.

Corporate greed has reached astonishing levels!!!
As a Canadian, I feel anger when I hear about the plight of average US citizens being abused by for-profit health insurance companies. Health care should be a right for all citizens. Our Canadian healthcare system is far from perfect however I have had two cancer surgeries as well as other less severe hospital stays and the only bill we received was for parking when my wife visited me. I'm not gloating, but humbling feeling compassion for my neighbours south of the border we share.
Insurance is NOT healthcare. We don’t NEED insurance. We need single payer healthcare.

People are fed up.
Do you get the feeling that rich people ripping off poor people to make themselves richer, is coming back to haunt them? Can you imagine living the rest of your life looking over your shoulder for someone with a gun who finally has had it?

Thompson was also named in a lawsuit filed by a Florida pension fund earlier this year accusing UnitedHealth of hiding an antitrust investigation by the Justice Department from shareholders while insiders sold stock, according to the Journal. Thompson had not answered the claims in court before Wednesday’s shooting.
Under his leadership, UnitedHealthcare provided coverage to more than 49 million people, making it the largest insurance company in the US. The network includes 1.3 million physicians and care professionals across nearly 7,000 facilities.
Under Thompson, the company made $74 billion in revenue in the most recent quarter, earning the title of the largest subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group. Thompson made $10.2 million annually and was one of the company’s highest-paid employees.
