Ancient trees come crashing down, and desperate orangutans flee a violent onslaught on their forest habitats. As chainsaws and giant vehicles crash through the trees, these gentle apes are pushed toward the edge of the forest – losing their food supply and falling into the hands of heartless poachers! As a result, orangutans can face starvation, capture and even DEATH in the exotic wildlife trade. It doesn’t have to be this way. But reckless corporations are contributing to millions of hectares of ILLEGAL deforestation and pushing orangutans to EXTINCTION. Why? To extract huge quantities of palm oil, a key ingredient in countless products, from laundry detergent to your favorite breakfast cereal. Indigenous farmers are standing up to protect the forests, precious wildlife and their land rights. But they’re being wrongly IMPRISONED for their activism, just so corporations and their suppliers can slash through vital rainforests and replace them with palm oil fields. We can’t let these companies destroy the forests orangutans need to thrive and then retaliate against Indigenous activists for defending them! But most shoppers have no idea their favorite brands – like Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch – are contributing to forest loss, human rights abuses and the EXTINCTION of forest-dwelling species.  Your response is missing: Should we allow greedy companies to drive orangutans to EXTINCTION?
