Your Signature is Needed: This dangerous pesticide could put you and your family at risk

THIS IS URGENT: A crucial ban on a brain-damaging, bee-killing pesticide has been REVERSED. Take action now >>

This HIGHLY-TOXIC pesticide is called chlorpyrifos, and it was banned by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2021. With help from Friends of the Earth members like you, we were able to get chlorpyrifos banned for agriculture use.

Unfortunately,  a federal court just overturned the ban and opened the doors for this toxic pesticide to be used in food production once again – food that you and your family might end up eating.

The EPA knows it’s dangerous – after crops are treated, the chemicals don’t just vanish. Chlorpyrifos can poison bees 24 hours after it’s sprayed, impairing their memory and learning. And the residue of pesticides can be found in our air, water, and soil.

What’s more, this pesticide harms children’s developing brains. When infants in utero and children are exposed, they face risks of reduced IQ, memory loss, and attention deficit disorders.

The EPA must do its part to protect bees, people, and the planet from toxic chemicals sold by Big Pesticide companies. Please, we need your help to get this ban reinstated. Will you help by signing our petition before 11:59pm TONIGHT?

Chlorpyrifos is in a class of chemicals known as organophosphates, which includes sarin nerve gas! These organophosphates were originally developed by the Nazis during World War II – now they’ve been repurposed for agricultural use. The results have been devastating.

Back in 2015, EPA scientists said that there are virtually no safe uses of chlorpyrifos. We have clear evidence that it is a leading cause of farmworker poisonings. In one incident, chlorpyrifos was one of the toxic pesticides that led 50 farmworkers to become sick. Workers on neighboring properties also ended up in the hospital over the following days.

The evidence is clear: Toxic pesticides benefit the Big Pesticide companies who make them at the expense of our health and environment. These companies have millions in profits at stake – and they’re working to prevent the EPA from taking action.

That’s why it’s so important for people like you to take action. The EPA needs to hear from folks who want to save bees in their backyards and beyond. It needs to hear from you to counter Big Pesticide’s lies. Can I count on you to push the EPA to ban toxic pesticides? Sign the petition now>>
