Congress just made a deal to cut UNRWA funding for a YEAR

Justice Democrats

A coalition of international aid groups is warning that famine is imminent in Gaza, with 1.1 million people at risk of man-made starvation.

As children, infants, and others struggle to find food and clean water — and some are even killed by the IDF in what are being called ‘flour massacres’ — the United States is utterly failing to stop these “catastrophic levels of hunger.”

Instead of restoring funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the largest source of aid in Gaza, members of Congress on both sides of the aisle have reportedly made a deal to cut UNRWA funding for an entire year due to unfounded allegations against 0.04% of the agency’s staff.

The Israeli military has killed 32,000 Palestinians, while UNWRA provides life-saving aid to those still alive. Our government should be funding actual aid to the Palestinian people, not more weapons and bombs for Netanyahu's military.

If you agree and want to see our government do everything in its power to stop this preventable famine in Gaza, please sign our petition and send a message to your representatives in Congress urging them to restore full UNRWA funding immediately!

TAKE ACTION

As we continue to pressure the Biden Administration to stop military funding to Israel and support an immediate, permanent ceasefire, this is another urgent step our government must take ASAP to prevent the starvation of millions of innocent people.

Thank you for making your voice heard,
