Thank you, Michigan

 

Thank you! This victory belongs to the Michiganders who made their voices heard in this election. We are reminded that our governor’s office does not belong to any person or political party. It belongs to all of us, the people of Michigan. Holding this office is the honor of my life, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to keep getting things done with all of you. Now, I want to thank each one of you for helping me get here. Together, you formed a team that I knew always had my back. Today, we celebrate. But tomorrow, we keep doing the work. While I am optimistic about our future, I know that progress is not inevitable. We know there are people out there who are trying to divide and distract us. They find problems more valuable than solutions. They are counting on your disengagement. They will make excuses, tell you some things can’t be solved. That our solutions are not worth it, too impractical, or too bold. Let’s prove them wrong. Progress is hard, but we know that the only way to move forward is if we try. I promise to be a governor for ALL of Michigan. I promise to work with anyone to get things done and compete with everyone to move Michigan forward. I know what we are capable of when we work together. Together, let’s build a Michigan worthy of our kids. I am so excited about the next four years. Thank you, Gretchen Whitmer
