Congress must codify reproductive rights

 

BREAKING: Roe v. Wade has fallen After nearly 50 years of being the law of the land, Roe v. Wade has been overturned. I need 5,000 fearless fighters to join me and sign my petition by MIDNIGHT to demand that reproductive rights be codified! Add my name I know you’ve heard the news: the Supreme Court has voted to overturn Roe v. Wade.  The right to safe abortions for millions of people in several states has been stripped. I’ll level with you: This is terrifying. For the first time in generations, young Americans have fewer rights than their grandparents.We have fought so hard to secure the right to choose, and it’s devastating to see it taken away. But I will always stand with you in this fight for reproductive rights, even if that means fighting for another 50 years. Wade has been successfully overturned, it is yet another burden that falls primarily on poor, Black, and brown people – but I will do everything in my power to prevent this. That’s why, months ago as attacks on reproductive rights continued to mount across the country, I called for the creation of an abortion fund in New York. This fund will help provide resources for our health care clinics that will be more critical than ever before. But there is so much more I intend to accomplish for reproductive freedom over the next four years. This is not a perfect solution, which is why we must do everything in our power to urge Congress to take action right now.
