I’m running for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina because I believe we need to send a fighter to Washington who will put the people first. As a judge and the first African American woman to serve as Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, I’ve seen firsthand how laws made in Washington impact — and too often fail — working families. When I first decided to run to try to flip North Carolina’s open Senate seat, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But then, literally MINUTES after I announced, Adam, a student from Morganton chipped in $25. Not two minutes later, a higher ed administrator from Winston-Salem gave $100. In the next minute, Anna from Durham, a social worker, gave $50… and we were off. Since then tens of thousands of people have chipped into our campaign. It’s humbling. But now that Democrats are united behind our campaign and focused on the general election, we have our biggest challenge to-date in this race. And it’s why I have to ask: I am humbly asking if you can please split a $10 contribution today between my campaign in North Carolina and Martin Heinrich's in New Mexico. This is so important.
