Time and again, conservative politicians and racist movements use veterans to further their agendas — agendas that often don't represent veterans or the American people we've sworn to protect.
Rather than accept this as “business as usual”, Common Defense — the nation's largest group of progressive veterans — is shattering the status quo of the American political system by expanding our coalition of like-minded veterans across the country through an innovative program called the Veterans Organizing Institute (VOI).
The VOI's mission is to build a network of highly diverse, former service members outfitted with cutting-edge political analysis and trained to bring practical organizing tactics to the fight to systemically reshape the American political landscape.
We've already seen the support for this program pour in through thousands of small-dollar donations, and while we're off to a fantastic start in 2022, we need to ensure that we have the resources to train every veteran who wants to make a measurable, critical, and progressive change to our society.
That's where you come in. Can we count on your support to train the next wave of progressive veteran political leaders? Click here to lend a hand with just $5, $10, or anything you can spare.
Veteran organizers like our Wisconsin Lead Organizer Randy Bryce have already shown what's possible locally and statewide. From forging partnerships with veterans groups like Vets For Peace, coordinating voter engagement with local minority-focused groups, and leading group actions on Capitol Hill. Randy Bryce is just one of hundreds of veterans leveraging the training they received in VOI for the greater good. We're creating a space for veterans to take charge of their own stories and to become the community leaders our country needs.
We won't sugar coat it, there's a lot of work to do. But only together can we break the cycle and create a more perfect union for veterans and all Americans.
Our more perfect union means no more Forever Wars. It means protecting Americans from a changing climate. It means leveling up our political power and reiterating our commitment to the most vulnerable among us by ensuring economic and racial justice from ocean to ocean.
Now it's time to muster. Will you answer the call to revolutionize our political system and help train a legion of progressive veteran political organizers? Click here now and chip in any amount you can.
