Donald Trump’s address last night was disgusting.
His speech was full of the lies and hatred we’ve sadly come to expect. And in turn, Democrats almost universally responded how we would hope.
From Nancy Pelosi to AOC, they denounced the speech, called out his lies, and committed to continue fighting for working families.
But my opponent was unwilling to stand up to the president.
Henry Cuellar couldn’t be bothered to put out a statement or even tweet. He’s been silent — and probably because he actually agreed with most of Trump’s speech.
That’s why he voted with Donald Trump nearly 70% of the time last Congress and how he became Trump’s favorite Democrat. He sided with him and voted to defund sanctuary cities, to defund Planned Parenthood, and to roll back critical environmental protections.
South Texas needs new leadership. We need someone who will be a voice for la gente and fight for working families.
If our grassroots movement wins this race, then that’s exactly what I will do.
