Hey everybody, it’s Ben Meiselas, co-founder of MeidasTouch, here with my Sunday message. I love Sunday messages the most because we can reflect on what took place this past week and talk about what’s happening in the coming week. I always enjoy spending time here, just sending you my thoughts.
I also want to begin by thanking all of our subscribers for keeping this network growing. We’re so grateful for you every day. We keep on expanding this network thanks to you, and we hope you appreciate the expansion efforts we’ve already made.
All right, let’s get into it.
Obviously, this past week was dominated by the United Nations General Assembly and the visit to the White House by China’s President Xi Jinping. Both are closely related to demonstrating America’s decline, and its rapid decline.
The week began with Donald Trump giving a deranged General Assembly speech where he threatened war, and war crimes, against multiple nations. He called the International Criminal Court essentially a terrorist organization.
The stories from leaks inside the intelligence community were important, but we all knew that. It’s not a secret. China’s out there saying that they’re allied with Russia and Iran. It’s pretty clear what’s happening, right?
The other lingering story while this was taking place is how Trump banned the media from covering the White House: Politico, CNN, and MS NOW. He’s still violating the court order by blocking CNN from lots of White House trips. That’s actively going on right now.
So the sight of all the Chinese media, all the CCP media, being let in while the U.S. media was banned from President Xi’s visit was a sight to behold.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump has been using taxpayer dollars to run these fascist ads on TV that look straight out of a Nazi playbook, and they’re running during things like the Ohio State game.
Taxpayers are paying for ads that are clearly political and unlawful. Perhaps the only silver lining is that these ads are so sickening and disgusting, and the weird, deranged, fascist imagery featuring Trump probably makes lots of voters even more sickened by this guy.
MeidasTouch has been very focused on the broader international context in our coverage, and I hope you’ve been appreciating the very detailed international perspectives in our videos.
Then it’s more of the same on market manipulation from the Trump regime. They’re back to “we control the Strait of Hormuz.”
No surprise here, but they’re back to leaking to Barak Ravid over at Axios the same old lies: Things are looking great, there’s never been more oil, more oil is leaving the Strait of Hormuz than before the war. All the same lies we’re used to seeing, and the American people aren’t buying it, because everything out of Trump’s mouth is utterly farcical. Every sound, syllable, and word is a complete lie.
We can see the gas and diesel prices.
We can feel it.
One thing I really want us all to be paying attention to is the war in Ukraine, because it’s not getting enough attention. We’ve been focusing on it every day for a very intentional reason. Things are getting really bad heading into the winter.
Trump has strung Zelensky along and promised him interceptor licenses, which never came about, because Trump’s a liar about everything. Russia has been building up its stockpiles of ballistic and cruise missiles, which Zelensky doesn’t have a response to, because you need Patriot interceptors to shoot them down.
But perhaps the more alarming thing happening right now is that Russia has developed these Geran-4 jet-fueled drones that travel incredibly fast and can’t really be shot down the same way the older versions of the Shahed drones can. So the drone interceptors really aren’t working. With the combination of these new jet-fueled drones and the ballistics, it’s going to be very, very difficult for Zelensky to defend against this.
We’ve been hearing chatter about European countries preparing for some big event, which has often been cast as a hybrid strike by Russia. I think what’s going on more significantly is the view that more material support is going to be needed for Ukraine because of the dynamic unfolding with these Russian strikes. A lot of these European countries are foreseeing what that escalation can look like, because at this point it seems almost inevitable heading into the winter. I think that’s been part of Putin’s plan all along: to just stretch this out. And now here we are, approaching this winter.
Not only is the U.S. not really doing anything about it, if anything, it’s helping Russia. If you take a look at the report we did this morning, you can see that the Geran-4 parts are mostly dual-use components coming from China. That’s how they’re being built. I think it’s critical we pay attention to all of these developments.
As we reflect on where we’re at, we’re also on the home stretch for the election. From a purely political analysis, Republicans have never been less popular, and Trump has never been less popular. On most of the major polling, Democrats look to be in a position not just to take control of the House, but also the Senate. We’ve seen some of these Democratic candidates running really good campaigns, focusing on affordability, focusing on people, actually putting America first, not this phony fraud Trump MAGA thing, which is more focused on endless wars, destroying the international order, and making things more disruptive and expensive at home.
But as I’m sure you know from how I like to report, the day-to-day horse race of political campaigns is important to me, but not as important as the broader values and principles at play here, the bigger stories and trends that are happening. Because if we simply enter a horse race of who’s winning and who’s losing, we’re focused on winning for the sake of winning. To me, that’s part of the trap that got us in this place in the first place.
We have to really answer why we want to win and what winning means. It’s not about exalting cults of personality. It’s about electing people who actually fight for us, who care about our country, who care about stability, who care about actually solving problems, who care about science, and who are empathetic. That, to me, is what’s really important and paramount, because we can rally around that as Americans. We can get out these frauds and these traitors. We can focus on building long-term stability and fixing this mess. That’s what I’m focused on.
There is good news here about Trump’s massively, rapidly crashing approvals. But the reality is that people are suffering and people are struggling. That’s not a talking point. It’s not a political message. It’s just the reality. And I know you’re out there. I know how tough it is for everybody.
So what I can tell you about what we’re doing here at the MeidasTouch Network is that every damn day we’re working as hard as we can, every second, every day. We’re always going to fight for you, listen to you, and keep building.
