Last week, New York City secured a record $131.5 million settlement from DoorDash — the largest worker settlement in NYC history, and the largest delivery worker settlement in the history of any American city. More than $115 million is heading straight back to delivery workers who were underpaid, paid late, or not paid at all.

DoorDash failed to pay over 260,000 delivery workers in New York City what they were due. That’s unacceptable.

Greedy algorithms and unfair business practices have no place in our city. The Mayor’s administration is holding up its promise to deliver for working people: City Hall will not stand by as mega-corporations rip off their workers and amass record profits.

Working people are what keep our city moving, and the full weight of our movement is on their side.

Mayor Mamdani is committed to fighting for workers' rights, even when that means going up against corporate greed. Under his leadership, workers in our city – no matter their job or title – will have a relentless advocate in their corner. They can expect that wages will be paid on time, workplace violations will be addressed, and corporations will be held to account for unfair practices.
