Trump turned 80 this weekend and threw himself a $60 million UFC cage match on the White House South Lawn. A Reuters/Ipsos poll found only 16% of Americans thought it was appropriate.
The fights went on under storm threats and brutal humidity, and with no tickets to sell on the White House lawn, the UFC walked in expecting to eat a $30 million loss.
Even Dana White, who built the whole thing and counts Trump as a friend, was done by the end. “I can’t afford it,” he said, adding that he’d never do it at the White House again. The giant cage came down soon after. One night, and his monument to himself was gone.
TRUMP’S PHONE: GOLD PAINT, WRONG FLAG

Trump Mobile finally shipped the T1—a $499 gold-colored phone they’d been promising for nearly a year. They called it an “American-made” answer to Apple and Samsung. The repair experts at iFixIt took one apart to see if that was true.
Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. Inside was a two-year-old phone built in China—the same one already sitting on store shelves, just painted gold.
The marketing claims were fake too. The company bragged about 600,000 orders. The real number, exposed in a data breach, was around 30,000.
Then there’s the American flag—the one stamped on the back with 11 stripes instead of 13. Just like Trump, everything about this phone is phony.
GEORGIA DEMOCRATS JUST OUTVOTED THE GOP

For the first time since 2006, Democratic turnout beat Republican turnout in a Georgia primary—in a state Trump carried, in the heart of the South.
And it wasn’t close. Compared to the last midterm primary, Democratic turnout surged 53% while GOP ballots dropped 13%. That’s not a poll or a prediction. That’s people voting—the only number that matters.

JUDGE SANCTIONS FAR-RIGHT LAWYERS

A far-right group went to court to stop Wisconsin from sharing voter data with ERIC. It’s the nationwide system that keeps voter rolls accurate—flagging duplicate registrations and people who’ve moved or died. Their argument: Wisconsin quit that system back in 2016, so sharing data with it was illegal.
There was just one problem. Wisconsin didn’t quit ERIC in 2016—it joined then. The entire lawsuit was built on a claim that was flatly false.
US District Judge William Conley didn’t just throw the case out. He sanctioned the lawyers who filed it—writing that either they never checked the facts or they just didn’t care.

A president throws himself a $60 million birthday spectacle and only 16% of Americans think it’s okay. His fancy gold phone is fake. And in Georgia and Wisconsin, people are actually pushing back and winning.
It’s not everything, but it’s something real. Grateful for reporting that reminds me we’re not powerless.

“This campaign will take on the powerful with three simple ideas,” he said in the ad. “Money out of politics, money in your pocket, and Medicare for All.”
I need to start paying more attention to him. I live in Georgia so he's an automatic "yes," but it's a blind yes, mostly. I've been reading that he's getting attention as a possible Dem front runner, which I'd feel more comfortable about if Dems can finally take the governor's office away from Republicans, too.
Everything Trump does is unconstitutional and gaudy and wrong! He is the worst President in the history of the USA.
Every thing he touches dies.
The Georgia Republicans gave Jon Ossoff a gift when they nominated Mike Collins to run against him for the GA senate seat. Collins is the politician everyone hates!
I believe this country is more democratic than Republican, and true conservative Republicans cannot stand what the administration is doing. I’m praying that the democratic turn out continues to dwarf the republican.
I think the American people should not have to pay one cent for that horrible display of violence on the front lawn of our home. It’s not his. He needs to pay for his own freaking birthday party.

There could be several reasons for the turnout in Georgia. The seizing of the 2020 ballots, MTG coming out against Trump and his cult, not to mention the damage that has been done at warp speed by this regime to our country.
The birthday bash was obscene. Clips I have seen show a trashy misuse of the WH grounds, all to appeal to the vanity of the Toddler-in-Chief. Like everything he touches, it was a heaping pile of you-know-what.
Q1: Democrats know what's at stake: stopping he destruction of our democracy. They know a win in November is critical and will turn out and vote to ensure it.

I think that people are fed up with the sycophantic rethuglican party. I believe that they may have finally come around to the idea that truth and fairness matters not just in daily life but is an absolute requirement for every branch of the government. I look forward to a full democratic trifecta. I want corrupt judges de-benched, especially certain SCOTUS judges. I want every executive order Frumpy ever signed to be rescinded and sent thru a shredder. I want to see that USAID is restored, SNAP becomes fully funded, Medicaid, Medicare fully restored, and insurance companies brought to heel. My instinct is that if they charge exorbitant premiums and refuse coverage, that company and especially the overpaid CEO faces a massive class action lawsuit.
The billionaires and a particular trillionaire and all big corporations must pay their fair share in taxes. Refusal to do so will result in jail or exile outside the USA. Yes, I am draconian in my thinking as regards those self indulgent, power hungry, “give me more” entrepreneurs, CEOs, politicians, lawyers, etc.
I have a massive want list. I want data centers and detention centers outlawed.
Not just closed down. The detainees released with the executive turkey’s assets seized to pay their legal representation and “ start over “ money to restore what they have lost. The government is to work for and not against the people. If the people elect a rep or a senator, that person must do the will of the people. Failure or refusal to act on the people’s behalf will result in immediate recall. I am merely one person expressing an opinion. I do not believe I am the only one.
You aren't. I like all your statements, wants and ideas. I, like you, hope the cowardly, corrupt Republicans have "cooked their own goose"; have finally gone too far, taken too much, proven their greed and alliance to a failure. Some old guard Dems are included in the criticism. We need new, committed, progressive, brave, caring people in government. We need to reverse Trump's destruction.
