SHARED FOR INFORMATION AND EDUCATION ABOUT THE REPUBLICAN TACTICS BEING EMPLOYED ACROSS THE NATION TO ENSURE RACIAL GERRYMANDERING AND TO CONTINUE TO DISENFRANCHISE BLACK VOTERS!

You may have heard me say, "I would be the first Black man elected statewide from Louisiana."

But this race is deeper than the color of my skin.

It’s about whether Louisiana will finally send someone to DC who will represent the people whose ancestors were forced to build Louisiana.

When I say that I would be the first Black man to represent Louisiana state-wide, what I really mean is I would be the first person to represent people whose ancestors were sharecroppers, like my grandparents.

It means I would be the first person to represent people whose ancestors were kidnapped and enslaved for centuries on this soil.

It means that I would be the first person to represent people who had to fight for their right to vote, sit at the same lunch counter, and go to the same schools.

Being the first elected Black man from Louisiana is about representing all of us who know that America still has a long way to go in the fight for justice and equality.

It feels like we have time-traveled back to the sixties, with the Voting Rights Act gutted, women's rights assaulted at every level, elections canceled so republicans can gerrymander, white legislators, calling black men “boys” at the Capitol.

But I know that people are ready to step up and fight back.

Early voting numbers show that Dems are ahead by 6k, that women outvoted men by 40k, and that people of color represent nearly 40% of early voters in Louisiana.

The more they oppress us, the more we will fight back, and the more we will win.

If you can, please help us in this fight to send a Black farmer to the US Senate so that someone who understands history and the consequences of racism and classism can represent all of us
