Chicago is holding a fun snowplow-naming contest, and Mayor Brandon Johnson has already chosen his favorite: “ABOLISH ICE.” The name fits, since snowplows literally remove ice from the ground.
Calling the entry “clever,” Johnson said that ICE has caused “a great deal of harm against people ... So that’s why ... this truck being named ‘Abolish ICE’ has my full and complete endorsement.”

More cancellations are piling up since Trump added his name to the Kennedy Center building and website. Jazz group The Cookers said they won’t perform their New Year’s Eve show, as they “remain committed to playing music that reaches across divisions rather than deepening them.”
Doug Varone and Dancers have also canceled their upcoming performance, calling the decision “morally exhilarating.” In a statement, the group wrote: “The Kennedy Center was named in honor of our 35th President who fervently believed that the arts were the beating heart of our nation … We hope ... that the Center and its reputation will return to that glory.”

One of the most corrupt things Trump has done is attempt to shut down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). The agency does nothing but benefit the American people, while holding corporations and others accountable—which is exactly why this regime wants it gone.
But in a major win for consumers yesterday, a judge blocked Trump’s latest attempt to cut CFPB funding.
Dem Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who helped create and run the CFPB, said: “Today, a federal court rejected the Trump Administration’s most recent, ridiculous attempt to starve the CFPB of funding. If courts continue to uphold the law, they’ll keep blocking Russ Vought’s illegal attempts to ‘close down’ the agency that has returned $21 billion directly to Americans who were cheated by big banks and giant corporations.”

Speaking of Elizabeth Warren, the Senator also had some hopeful words for all of us to close out the year. Warren stated: “Trump and his billionaire buddies running this country are hoping that the rest of us will just give up and quit fighting. But our country, our chance to build a future for our kids and grandkids is too precious.”
Warren added: “We stay in the fight because it’s a righteous one.”

If the current administration continues on its present path, I certainly believe that in the New Year we will experience a huge blue wave, and possibly an independent one. People are sick to death of the present, gold laminated, crass, criminal, self endorsing regime of unqualified people running our country into the ground and making us look deranged to the rest of the world. We need and require common sense oriented people who have their heart and soul aligned with providing a government for the people, by the people of the this country. The attitude of $$$ makes the person invincible and able to call the shots in their favor is gone....and to be honest, never should have been allowed as it has never proven to work or at the minimum be fair to the average American.

Hardman earned 71.4% of the vote, according to unofficial results from the Iowa Secretary of State, to represent the district that includes parts of West Des Moines, Clive and Windsor Heights — continuing a string of special election wins that have buoyed Iowa Democrats heading into the 2026 midterm elections.
The seat has been vacant since the death of Sen. Claire Celsi, D-West Des Moines, in October.

The answer was invariably NO because REPUBLICAN VOTERS are uninformed & don't pay attention to the votes of their elected officials unless they're spoonfed by FOX NEWS = FAKE NEWS LIARS.
I knocked on doors campaigning AGAINST a CORRUPT REPUBLICAN - had the voting list & knocked on doors of REPUBLICAN VOTERS....
The consistent comment was " WE ONLY VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS!"
I did voter canvassing in New Hampshire & found similar.
New Hampshire funds their PUBLIC SCHOOLS with REAL ESTATE TAXES - with predictable results! The POVERTY & POOR EDUCATION shows!
The most memorable encounter was a REPUBLICAN who was staggering drunk before noon o a SUNDAY & gave me a lecture about politics!
It is only sites such as this that DEFEAT THE RIGHT WING PROPAGANDA!
...most of the Democratic women are the biggest fighters which is why we hear their outstanding voices speaking out regularly! More women are needed in the Government to take down the MONSTERS in the MAGATS in the GOP!

Some of the candidates that "R" voters have supported have been bizarre & incompetent. One canddidate had been on a local school committee & opposed replacing 20 year old science textbooks because she said "SCIENCE HASN'T CHANGED"
Curious note: while I was knocking on the doors of "R" voters, I had a list that included who voted & for what party. I found several who lived in "R" voting households that voted in the PRIMARY as 'unenrolled' that allows them to vote for a DEMOCRAT. I would never disclose that to an "R" zealot.
Carpetbagger & Crypto Scammer JOHN DEATON ran against Senator Elizabeth Warren. Everything he said was a LIE! I know because I followed him, publicly posted his LIES! He attended a SINGLE MEETING about the STEWARD HOSPITAL BANKRUPTCY & blabbed about solutions that were not doable!
