Important Message Before New Year’s from Meidas Founder

Hey Meidas Mighty. It’s Ben Meiselas, co-founder of the MeidasTouch Network. I wanted to send you this message before New Year’s. I will keep it short.

Thanks for fighting by our side every step of the way this year. This network would not exist without you.

You’ve been a vital force fighting for democracy in the face of the most serious authoritarian threat in our history.

This has not been an easy year.

We’ve seen institutions fall. We’ve seen people we admire betray us. We’ve seen a perverse mixture of cruelty and incompetence at the highest levels of our government. We’ve seen atrocities at home and abroad.

This regime has thrown all of its resources and propaganda at us. Yet here we stand. The people are not broken. The people are stronger than ever.

My word of the year for 2025 is resiliency. The people in the United States and across the world have been resilient and have emphatically said that we do not want to live under kings and tyrants.

Democracy, for all its imperfections, is a system we must defend, protect, and reinvigorate in the face of spreading authoritarianism.

The people of this country united in peaceful protest, in rebuilding the news media, in protecting our communities from Trump’s ICE gestapo, and at the ballot box.

It’s been the honor of my life leading the MeidasTouch Network during this period of growth, as we became the most downloaded podcast and most viewed digital news network in the United States. But it’s been an even bigger honor to call you my friend and to have you be part of this community.

Thanks for all you do for your family, for your community, for the country, and for the world. Thanks for being a Meidas Mighty!
