PragerU is trying to capitalize on Republicans defunding PBS to become the new stalwart of educational programming for kids.¹

Here’s the problem: PragerU is a far-right propaganda machine churning out videos targeting kids with content that pushes climate denial, lies about American slavery, Islamophobia, and so-called “anti-wokeness.”² MAGA education officials across the country are embracing the right-wing videos. For instance, Oklahoma just introduced a dangerous ideological test for teachers, developed with PragerU, to “keep away woke indoctrinators.”³

Trump and his MAGA allies are pushing their extreme ideology into public schools. We need to stop this major move towards right-wing indoctrination before PragerU is in every classroom in America.

Replacing PBS and NPR with right-wing disinformation has been one of the primary objectives of Trump’s war on the media. Trump and his allies want to control ever more of the flow of information online, on TV, and in classrooms, so that the far-right has even greater influence on what people believe is the truth.

Advocates at Media Matters say that PragerU’s programming “presents right-wing propaganda as ideologically neutral education and it serves as a gateway into extremism through its attempts to define issues for children at a very young age.”⁴

Trump and PragerU are a serious threat to public education. Congress must take action to end the federal government’s work with PragerU and stem the spread of this dangerous media.
