Well, it was only a matter of time but North Carolina just got hit with the bill for Trump’s budget disgrace. And my opponent Richard Hudson led the charge to pass this bill and screw over families like the fanboy he is.  Three hundred nineteen million in Medicaid cuts hit on October 1.   Here is what those cuts mean in North Carolina, in plain English and without the MAGA lies. Three percent cuts off every provider becomes canceled appointments, shorter clinic hours, staff sent home, and whole days where Medicaid patients get told to come back next month. Eight to ten percent off inpatient and residential care yanks beds from service, shutters units, and dumps people into ER hallways stacked three deep. Ten percent off behavioral therapy for autistic kids slashes weekly sessions, stretches waitlists into months, and blows up hard-won progress parents fought like hell to get. Deeper hits to hospice and nursing homes strip nurses from the floor, cut visits, rush goodbyes, and push facilities to refuse new Medicaid admissions. The state already admits providers will walk, which on the ground means doctors dropping Medicaid, clinics freezing intake, hospitals cutting shifts, and rural practices turning the lights off for good.
