It’s nice not having Vance here in the US, since everything he does is horrible. On Tuesday, folks hosted a “not welcome” dance party for Vance in England. Protesters held signs that read: “JD Vance’s Netflix password is ‘password,’” and “Cotswold childless cat ladies say go home.” There were chants of “shame on you,” and a special JD Vance cake. It was an event to remember. Vance then traveled to Scotland, where he was greeted by more protesters. PROTEST IN ARKANSAS In Arkansas, Education Secretary Linda McMahon held an event at a public elementary school with Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Protesters gathered outside to speak out about the duo’s hypocrisy. Touring public schools, while sabotaging them behind the scenes, isn’t outreach—it’s theater. BOWSER GETS LOUDER Following Trump’s hostile takeover of Washington, DC, Mayor Bowser said the “community needs to jump in … to protect our city.” She added that we must form a “backstop to this authoritarian push,” by electing a Dem majority in the House. Trump’s DC takeover is based on a lie. It’s an effort to distract from his Epstein scandal, and his rampant corruption. Which reminds me—where are the Epstein files? INDIANA PUSHES BACK Just last week, hundreds of people protested outside of the Governor’s Residence in Indianapolis. They were calling out IN Gov. Mike Braun’s attempt to steal Dem House seats. State Rep. Ed DeLaney said: “no Hoosier voters are asking for this … this is DC politics invading our state.” CALIFORNIA GOES ON OFFENSE In a series of social media posts, Gov. Citing a public emergency due to a surge in violent crimes in DC.  The fact is, President Trump's claims that there is “rising violence in the capital” is false. In fact, violent offences fell after reaching highs in 2023 but in 2024, they hit their lowest levels in 30 years. [1] What’s taking place in DC is nothing new. The Trump administration has targeted DC and its allies before. DC will not remain silent but it needs your help. Tell your member of Congress to stand down the escalation of federal forces and respect DC. Here’s what’s happening: The President has formally declared a public safety emergency, stating that the Justice Department is now in charge of the Metropolitan Police Department. With plans to activate and deploy 800 National Guard. The troops will start to appear on DC streets as soon as this week, working in shifts of 200 to provide “a physical presence in support of law enforcement.” [2] However, the data is the data and it shows that DC is currently at a 30-year violent crime low and DC's crime stats show that violent incidents have dropped this year. What’s clear is that crime is falling in DC; there’s been a substantial drop in violence since the summer of 2023. [3] The dismal and bleak image that the administration paints, is not the reality for many DC residents. In fact, District leaders have condemned the President’s actions and criticized the takeover of the police department. [4] Tell your member of Congress to stand down the escalation of federal forces and respect DC. Here’s how you can help: DC is home to 700,000 residents but they don’t have a single voting member in Congress. Meaning, there is no one to advocate on their behalf so we’re asking for help from allies across the country and that includes you. DC wants Congress to do everything within their power to stand down the escalation of federal forces in the District. They need members of Congress to stop freezing the local budget, stop the attempt at overturning local laws and to pass H.R. 51, the “Washington DC Admissions Act,” which would grant Washington, DC statehood.  Will you help by signing our letter and asking your member of Congress to be in solidarity with DC communities? My congresscon answered my lstter about the takeover, informing me that the president had "a obligation to the Constitution" to do this, because the murder rate made DC one of the most dangerous cities in the country. I wrote back calling him a liar. He has not responded to that missive. Shady Vance deserves every bit of crap that is slung his way! A friend of mine with whom I do not get into political arguments, is even just watching the news, the local news having a big change of heart about Trump although he never was dyed in the wool Trumper. Now regularly speaks disparagingly about him. He’s upped his contribution to PBS because of the cuts. So that’s to me a triumph, one person at a time. Unfortunately he still does the “all parties are the same”, but I at least can tell him why that’s wrong and we don’t get into a fight! I take my wins where I can.😊 I love it. Newsom is playing trump's game. The difference is, Newsom is smart, strategic, planned out. This is how we fight. Democrats, understand that at this moment, we don't want decorum. We don't want "nice". What we need is for you to get in the game. This fight is your do or die moment. They've gone low, time for Democrats to go to the bottom. Once we restore democracy, and rid ourselves from of this regime, only then we can get back to it. Democrats, especially career politicians, talking to you Schumer, Pelosi - it's time to join the fight against trump aggressively, massively, and with the same vengence as his. Otherwise, we will no longer have a country to fight for and only a dictatorship to fight against. It's close, NOW IS YOUR TIME.
