Calls out Trump cuts to vets & worker safety and union busting at Wells Fargo MeidasTouch Network Jul 21 By AFL-CIO Secretary Treasurer Fred Redmond Last week I had an incredible journey with the diverse and growing labor movement across the south. We kicked off our swing with the United Steelworkers and Virginia AFL-CIO to expose Trump and Republican’s devastating cuts to workers’ safety and veterans' services in Newport News, Virginia. In Charlotte, North Carolina we joined the 116th NAACP Convention where civil rights and labor leaders spoke out together for freedom and security. And then we met up with President Claude Cummings in exposed union-busting at Wells Fargo with new Communications Workers of America (CWA) members who are demanding a fair contract including marching into Wells Fargo’s headquarters to deliver petition signatures. Next we stopped in South Carolina to address the state's annual convention and call out the right for every worker in the south to have the freedom to join a union and then my last stop this week was with labor and faith leaders in Memphis, TN. But the only thing better than a bus tour is having a second bus! In the Midwest, our second bus hit the road in Michigan, joining Ironworkers in Ann Arbor to talk about registered Apprenticeships that are the gold standard for job training - but the Trump admin has threatened investments in these programs. And then we hosted an event with UAW members in Warren, where workers called out the Trump administration’s cuts to our essential services are hurting working people in Michigan and across the country. This is just the beginning. We’re meeting workers where they are—on jobsites, in contract fights, and in union halls across the country—to build power and put politicians who bow to billionaires on notice. Switzerland 🇨🇭 minimum wage is 30 dollars an hour. They have universal health care with an option of health insurance that they regulate in order not to abuse the system or the citizens. They have mandatory vacation time. They have no mass shootings.

Meanwhile, America 🇺🇸 has mass shootings to the point where children spend half their lives practicing drills instead of learning. Also, while seeing its citizens as disposable property and not worthy of health care. They allow billions the ultra rich to break the rules and do whatever they fucking want. While our minimum wage is still 7.25. This is why the American people have such a disadvantage from the rest of first world countries. So this original BIG LIE that America is great is a fantasy. They've been feeding us bullshit since day one. When we can match the benefits that Switzerland 🇨🇭 and the rest of the European 🇪🇺 countries have. Then I can proudly say it is great. But right now it's a POS country. Americans need to open their eyes 👀 and see that others have it way better than us. And fight for rights!

Why should they pay for HEALTH CARE when those who can't afford it will DIE? Why fight for lower prescription costs? The poor will just DIE because they can't afford DRUGS like INSULIN. 

First day in office TRUMP issued an EXECUTIVE ORDER rescinding BIDEN's DRUG COST LOWERING INITIATIVES - PROJECT 2025 does not care about PEOPLE!

Senator Schiff said on Colbert that his colleagues tell him they are just plain scared of trump, that they fear for their jobs and their safety and many report having received threats to themselves and their families. I don't buy that at all. They can always resign. I think they know it's better to be thought of as a coward than as a truly bad person, and they know that what they support is truly bad. I hope none of them attend a church where the preacher praises God for the cruelty to the persons in the detention centers/concentration camps, and I think if you go to just about any church you have to know supporting trump and his cruelty, his lies and his unjust economic policies is just plain bad and evil

Well said except maybe the part about kids spend half their lives practicing drills instead of learning. Since it followed the statement about AMerica having more mass shooting I interpreted it to mean the kids spend half their lives practicing active shooter drills and that's really not right. If you mean practicing drills regarding other info taught in school so they do not ever develop critical thinking skills, that is totally true!
