She worked as a dedicated registered nurse, providing her patients with care and comfort. In February of 2025, however, Adriana began to suffer from intensely painful headaches. They became so bad she went to the hospital. Her family states she actually went to TWO different hospitals, but each dismissed the severity of her complaints and just sent her home. The following morning Adriana woke up gasping for air, became unresponsive, and her boyfriend rushed her to the hospital. At Emory University Hospital — the very hospital where she worked as a nurse — the doctors determined she had blood clots in her brain. She was placed on life support and declared brain dead. Adriana was only about nine weeks pregnant. You’d think at this point Adriana’s mother, April, would be able to make the incredibly difficult decision as to what should happen next.
