Bruce Springsteen has never been one to mince words. Thursday night in Manchester, England, was signature Springsteen. At a concert on his “Land of Hopes and Dreams” tour, he diverged from his usual song set to speak directly and forcefully about the state of our country. He articulated the anger and frustration many of us have been feeling while issuing a call to action. Because Donald Trump can’t stand to be called out, he made a classic PR blunder. Rather than ignore the video, he went after Springsteen on social media, thus keeping the story alive. Trump wrote on Truth Social, “This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country, that’s just '‘standard fare.’ Then we’ll all see how it goes for him!” The fact that Trump reacted at all means Springsteen got under his skin.
