At its best, politics is about education. Educating people about the process, our rights, our responsibilities and our potential to make life much better for all Americans and for people around the world.
That’s why Democracy Summer, our project to train and mobilize the next generation of Democratic organizers and leaders, has been at the heart of my political campaigns since I first ran for State Senate in 2006.
Now in 2025, a time of fanatical extremism and authoritarian politics at the highest levels of government, we are excited to welcome back Democracy Summer veterans across the country and to partner with a bunch of exciting new campaigns for an unforgettable summer of critical political activism, grassroots community organizing and personal growth.
I’m proud of the difference these young people are making on the ground, but the success of Democracy Summer ultimately depends on the solidarity and generosity of visionary supporters like you.
Nothing beats the power of good old-fashioned on-the-ground organizing. With your help, we’ll empower Fellows to register voters, build strong Democratic organizations, and create lifelong political friendships while building a sweeping popular majority to defeat the forces of authoritarianism all over America.
