An Enormous Rally and More Great News That’s Bad For Trump and Musk Onward! Scott Dworkin Apr 13 As we brace for another week of Musk and Trump’s chaos, I’m glad to be able to deliver good news today. There are so many champions like you, doing what they can to make a difference. Thank you for supporting my work—let’s jump in. Yesterday, there were hundreds of Tesla Takedown events all across America, and in at least 7 other countries. One great example is in Tucson, AZ, where the protests have grown from 50 people to more than 1,000. “It feels wonderful that people want to help make our country better and encourage government services to serve people,” participant Mary Ann Ahrens said. Absolutely right. Also in Tucson, tonight there is a town hall with Dem Senators Cory Booker and Mark Kelly, Dem Rep. Greg Stanton, and former Dem Rep. Gabby Giffords. Kelly says the goal is to “hear from folks about how the Administration’s actions are impacting their lives.” I can’t wait to see this one. In Florence, KY people gathered for a “Hands Off!” protest that was postponed from last weekend due to severe weather. A great group of folks showed up, including Sister Maria Francine, a nun with the Sisters of Notre Dame Order in Covington. Wearing her black and white veil, she held a sign that read “Congress Do Your Job.” What a powerful statement. Meanwhile, a group of Harvard professors are suing the Trump Administration for threatening to withhold nearly $9 billion in federal funds—unless they comply with the administration’s demands. It’s good to see some of these educational institutions are willing to stand up to this dangerous nonsense—as they should. Yesterday, Sen. Bernie Sanders and Dem Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hosted their largest rally to date, with 36,000 people showing up in Los Angeles. The event was inspirational, and the crowd was electric. At the start of the program, nurses were speaking on stage when someone in the crowd experienced a medical emergency. The nurses immediately ran to provide aid. The strength it takes to do that job is unimaginable to me. AOC laid it out clearly: “Donald Trump is a criminal. Convicted on 34 felony counts of fraud. He is lying, and he is manipulating the stock market too. At his best, he enriches himself, the billionaires who back him, and the members of Congress who trade with him. Not you. Not me. Not the people.” Trump’s “whole presidency began with launching tools for bribery, meme coins to fleece working people—and move around money in the dark, extortion settlements from media companies, and law firms who gladly pay them,” AOC called out. Sanders commented on the large crowd size in front of him, saying “You are scaring the hell out of” Musk and Trump. “Because they know what we know: They are the 1%, and we are the 99%.” After referring to the headlining musicians Joan Baez, Maggie Rogers, and Neil Young, Bernie said: “We're going to make our revolution with joy. We're going to sing and dance our way to victory, against hatred and divisiveness.” That’s exactly why we deliver the good news daily.
