Jim Jordan hides as Ohio vets fight for their lives

 

This week, veterans and their supporters stood outside the VA clinic in Parma, Ohio, pleading for their jobs, their healthcare, and their dignity.    They’re rallying against the devastating 80,000 job cuts at the VA—cuts that will leave thousands of Ohio veterans stranded without the care they need. These workers aren’t just numbers on a budget spreadsheet.    They’re the nurses who stay late to care for a veteran recovering from surgery. They’re the administrators who fight through red tape to get benefits processed faster.    They’re the doctors treating PTSD, the social workers helping homeless veterans find stable housing, the caregivers who have dedicated their lives to serving those who served.   And yet, the Trump administration is gutting the VA, stripping away essential services and putting 20,000 Ohio jobs on the line—including thousands in Jim Jordan’s own district. And where is Jim Jordan?   Too busy chasing after a Fox News camera to spout his latest “woke mind virus” conspiracy theory or finding a new way to stay weirdly obsessed with Hunter Biden instead of standing with Ohio veterans.    He’s not fighting to save their jobs. Not offering a single solution.   Instead, Jim Jordan is enthusiastically supporting these devastating cuts.    If you believe our veterans deserve more than betrayal and budget cuts, chip in now to help us replace Jim Jordan with a leader who will actually fight for them.   Rather than lifting a finger to protect the thousands of VA workers in his district, he’s dismissing them as “leftists” and pushing conspiracy theories—because in Jordan’s world, anyone who dares ask for basic dignity and fairness must be part of some deep-state plot.   I’ve always stood with our veterans—because they stood for us.    I’ve worked with veteran advocacy groups to push for expanded healthcare access, fought against GOP-led attempts to privatize the VA, and spoken out against the outrageous backlog of disability claims that leave too many veterans without the care they need.  I’ve supported expanding mental health services, ensuring veterans struggling with PTSD and service-related injuries get the treatment they deserve.    And guess what? I will always fight to protect and strengthen the benefits our veterans have earned – because that’s the social contract we have in a free and fair democracy.    If you put your life on the line for this country, the very least we can do is ensure you have the care, support, and dignity you deserve.   I wish I could say I was surprised, but Jim Jordan has spent 18 years in Congress betraying our veterans: He voted against the PACT Act, which expanded healthcare for veterans exposed to toxic burn pits. He opposed increased funding for mental health services for veterans struggling with PTSD. He voted against expanding housing assistance for homeless veterans. He blocked funding to address the massive VA claims backlog that leaves veterans waiting months for care. All of these examples and more are why we’re in this race.    Because Ohio veterans deserve more than cheap flag-waving and empty slogans. They deserve leadership. They deserve action.    And they damn well deserve a Congressperson who will fight for them—not sell them out.   We are building a movement to defeat Jim Jordan and put Ohioans first.
