More Positive News That’s Negative For Trump Onward. Scott Dworkin Feb 17 Before we dive into a new week of Trump and Musk’s mayhem, I have some more good news to share. My hope is that this gives you a little bit of relief—even if it’s just for a minute. Brave folks from all over the country—and the world—are fighting back and speaking out against Trump and Musk. Today there are rallies at state capitals, and other cities across the country, for “Not My Presidents Day.” It looks like it could be the biggest anti-Trump protest turnout to date. If you are going, please stay safe and vigilant. On Sunday, more than 100 demonstrators in San Mateo, CA walked 21 miles to oppose Trump’s horrible immigration policies. One organizer said, "My entire community is made up of immigrants and family members who have sacrificed so much to be here, and follow the American dream. We’re so proud today to be their voice.” Last week there were protests held against Elon Musk at Tesla dealerships, showrooms, and even at charging stations across America. Dubbed the “Tesla Takeover,” crowds gathered in San Francisco, NYC, Columbus, Ann Arbor, and elsewhere. Organized primarily on Bluesky, the protest website reads: “Sell your Teslas, dump your stock, join the picket lines. Hurting Tesla is stopping Musk. Stopping Musk will help save lives and our democracy.” Also last week, hundreds danced before marching to protest Trump’s hostile takeover of the Kennedy Center. And a growing list of celebrities like Issa Rae have canceled their upcoming performances at the venue. Fmr. VP Kamala Harris, who might run for California governor, was met with a standing ovation when she dropped by Broadway this weekend. Speaking to different casts, Kamala said: “The progress of our nation has always been about the expansion of rights, not the restriction of rights…I believe we fight for something, not against something.” Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, who is thought to be a likely replacement for Justin Trudeau, made it clear that she is not intimidated by Trump’s trade war. Freeland floated the idea of a retaliatory 100% tariff on Teslas, and additional economic actions aimed at Trump’s key supporters. And as the US and Russia are set to meet in Saudi Arabia this week for “peace talks,” Ukraine’s President Zelensky went on Meet The Press and said “I will never accept any decisions between the United States and Russia about Ukraine. Never.” Good. Nor should he. Lastly, following the quid pro quo scandal surrounding NYC Mayor Eric Adams’s case, it’s been confirmed Gov. Kathy Hochul might remove him from office. I hope the Governor does. Most of this news is either not covered at all, or it’s buried underneath corporate media’s garbage stories about Musk and Trump. But you can always count on us to cut through their distractions, and give you the truth.
