A Special Tribute: Remembering Jazzy’s Independent Spirit
In Loving Memory of Jazzy
Jazzy joined our sanctuary family a decade ago, arriving at the age of 4 after her caregiver could no longer care for her. Rescued as a calf from a veal ranch, she grew into an independent spirit who lived life entirely on her terms. Jazzy didn’t seek out human affection, but if you were lucky enough to pet her, it was on her terms. She was unapologetically herself, a quality we can’t help but admire. Her bond with Shelby and Magnolia, whom she reluctantly tolerated as her “nieces,” was touching. After Jazzy passed, the two stood vigil by her side, grieving the loss of their stubborn, fiercely independent aunt. Jazzy, you’ve left a mark on our hearts. We’ll miss your spirit, your sass, and your authenticity. Rest easy, dear Jazzy.
Lenny Kravitz Needs a Loving Home!
Grass Valley, California: Meet Lenny Kravitz, an 8-month-old Westfälischer Totleger who was “supposed” to be a hen but isn’t! This handsome boy needs a safe and loving home where he can thrive. Please note: While we wish we could help directly, Animal Place is unable to intake roosters at this time. However, we’re committed to assisting Lenny in finding the care he deserves. If you or someone you know can open their heart and home to Lenny, please reach out to Marji at marji@animalplace.org for more information. Together, let’s ensure this sweet boy finds the safe and happy place he deserves to call home! Note: He needs placement within northern California.
Bridge to Comfort: A New Addition for Our Goats!
Our amazing Operations Manager, Jim, has outdone himself by building a brand-new bridge in the goat pasture! As you may know, goats aren’t exactly fans of water or rain, and their pasture features a year-round “river” that can be tricky to navigate. This new bridge not only keeps our goats dry but also helps CJ, one of our beloved residents, manage a case of thrush in her hoof—keeping her tootsies dry is crucial for her recovery. The goats have already started using their bridge, and we think they’re pretty excited about it! Thank you, Jim, for making life a little brighter (and drier) for our goat friends!
Grateful Hearts: Your Messages of Thanks
This holiday season, we asked you to share what you’re grateful for, and the response was truly heartwarming! Thank you to everyone who sent back an ornament with your gratitude message from our holiday appeal. Your thoughtful words remind us why we do what we do.
Here are just a few of the inspiring messages we received:
"I am grateful for my 2 rescue cats." "All the animals that have brought me joy, happiness, love, and comfort." "Tina’s recovery!" "Getting to know a wider circle of kind people who are aware of our connections to our Mother Earth and animals." "You! You give animals hope and provide a service to activists who are not out there 'in the trenches!'"
We’re so grateful for each of you—our compassionate, dedicated supporters who make our mission possible. Your kindness uplifts not only the animals but everyone working to create a more compassionate world. Thank you for being part of our community!
