Hi, it’s Jasmine Crockett, the Democrat representing Texas’ 30th Congressional District. It’s been a downright embarrassing few weeks for House Republicans. FIRST: They lost seats in the 2024 elections — leaving them with an even SLIMMER majority than they had last year despite Donald Trump’s victory. THEN: Elon Musk & Donald Trump threw Congress into chaos by blowing up a bipartisan compromise to avert a government shutdown. NOW: With the vote for the next Speaker of the House just a week away, Republicans are hinting that Mike Johnson could face the same fate as Kevin McCarthy. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Congress has to act, but the House Republicans literally don’t know HOW to act! It’s a national embarrassment — but we have the power to end it. When Democrats controlled the House, we actually delivered results for the people. We can do it again, but only with grassroots champions like you on our side.
