Newsmax, a far-right news organization peddling misinformation, and Smartmatic, a voting machine company, have settled a case with broad implications for November.   Following the false election fraud claims in 2020, Newsmax went on the air spreading lies that Smartmatic voting machines were rigged and changing votes.   This was a blatant falsehood. While the terms of the settlement are unclear, one thing is clear: These “news” networks pose a real danger to the integrity of our elections and safety of election workers.   The misinformation is only increasing the closer we get to Election Day.
