Vice President Kamala Harris’ brother-in-law, former U.S. associate attorney general Tony West, spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Wednesday, a night focused on fighting “for our freedoms,” from democracy to reproductive rights and more. “As a sister, a daughter, an auntie, and a mother, I've seen Kamala fight for her family. As district attorney, attorney general, U.S. senator, and vice president of the United States, I have watched her fight in the halls of power for those who have no voice there. And as president… I know she'll fight for you,” West said. Later in the evening, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will also formally accept the vice presidential nomination, a day before Harris takes the stage as the official nominee.
