PAY YOUR BILLS!
Donald Trump is planning on going to Erie, Pennsylvania this weekend to hold a rally, but the mayor of the city is telling him to cool his jets. The city is still owed $35,000 from the Trump campaign to cover the costs of security and other items from a rally he held there in 2018, and the mayor says that Trump has to pay that bill - and possibly even pay up front for the coming rally - before he shows up. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

The Mayor of Erie, Pennsylvania has a message for Donald Trump, and that message is very clear before you show up here this coming weekend to do another one of your idiotic little rallies. How's about you pay your bill from 2018 from the last time you came to my city and held one of your rallies and cost the city tens of thousands of dollars that you were supposed to reimburse us for, but you never did. Even after we have asked your campaign that was flush with cash at the time to pay your $35,000 balance, you refused to do it. So Democratic Mayor Joe Sember is now telling Donald Trump, pay your bills. And by the way, while you're at it, go ahead and pay us in advance for the security detail cost that we're going to incur for this coming weekend's Rally. Here's what the mayor had to say.
I think we have to try, and I feel like my team feels the same way. We're going to see whether we can get some payment from them in advance this time. It's important to do this because we're talking about taxpayer money being used to help make his visit more safe. As everybody knows, Erie Pennsylvania is of course not the only city where Donald Trump didn't want to pay the bills that he agreed to pay to show up and do a rally. We have cities in Michigan, cities in Texas, cities in New Hampshire that are still waiting for Donald Trump to pay the bills that he is supposed to be paying. Because here's what happens when Donald Trump shows up in these places to do his little campaign rallies, they have to sign all these forms, they have to do these agreements. And the cities as part of these agreements say, we will put up our security officers, our police officers, our firefighters, our first responders, we'll block off city streets.
You know, that costs taxpayers money. It loses revenue for the city. But we'll do that to keep you safe. And for the record that happens with Democrats, it happens with Republicans, but it's even more so when you're dealing with a man who is the former president of the United States. Security gets beefed up, and it was beefed up when he was president of the United States when he first went to Erie in 2018. And so the city incurs the costs and the campaign is supposed to pay them back for these. And Trump's campaign is sitting on tens of millions of dollars. They could write checks by the end of today and pay off all of the debts that they owe. All these cities, they're just refusing to do so. Like Erie, Pennsylvania. Trump's going back. The city's gonna incur costs. He's had a pass due bill for five years with tens of millions of dollars in his campaign accounts. It's not like it's his personal cash, right? He's not writing a check from Donald J and Melania Trump. He's writing it from his campaign.
It's $35,000. You've got $22 million cash on hand today, pay you bills. As we know, based on the indictment in Manhattan, Donald Trump doesn't like to pay bills. And if he does pay bills, he wants to make dang sure that he can somehow write them off in taxes, even if that's not a legitimate business expense. But that's where we're at. Donald Trump doesn't like to pay his bills, and cities, taxpayers all over the country are the ones paying the price for it. I don't understand how any Republican out there can look at this and be like, oh, it's totally good and cool. Screw these cities. They just like off for real. Tell the guy, tell your guy. Tell your cult leader to pay his bills. It really is that simple. He's got the money. It's not even technically his money, so just frigging do
