Yesterday, Hillary Clinton officially endorsed AIPAC-backed, conservative career politician George Latimer over progressive incumbent Rep. Jamaal Bowman in New York’s 16th district:
If Clinton really cared about protecting abortion rights and supporting President Biden’s agenda, she wouldn’t endorse the candidate in this race taking millions from Donald Trump donors and opposing Biden’s proposal to raise taxes on the wealthiest few.
What can we say? We’re disappointed, but not surprised. Clinton received $4.1 million from AIPAC’s network over the course of her political career, so it’s not shocking that she’s supporting their hand-picked challenger running against a true, progressive champion for the people.
What it does show is the establishment knows our people-powered movement is stronger than their rich mega-donors. That’s why they’re putting every inch of power they can into unseating Jamaal — this is literally the most expensive U.S. House primary in history because of AIPAC’s corporate, Republican-fueled war chest.
