Donald Trump's criminal defense attorney, Todd Blanche, painted himself into a box by telling the jury in his opening statement that Trump did not have an encounter with Stormy Daniels. Given that the evidence introduced during the course of the trial proved that Trump DID have an encounter with Daniels, the jury is likely to disbelieve the other claims Trump's lawyer will make during closing arguments. This video discusses how defense attorneys in criminal cases often fall into the trap of overplaying their hand and having it come back to haunt them in closing arguments.
