Trump appointed judge Mary Kay Vyskocil sides with Jim Jordan over New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg by ruling that Jordan's subpoena compelling Mark Pomerantz is legally enforceable. In a remarkable display of tone-deafness, the judge crows in the opening salvo of her opinion that "no one is above the law," apparently failing to recognize that Jim Jordan - the very person who issued the subpoena to Pomerantz - criminally defied an identical subpoena and has NEVER been held accountable, putting him above the law. The judge's ruling is legally defensive. What's not defensible is the fact that her ruling reads like it was drafted by a combination of Jim Jordan's public relations person and Donald Trump's criminal defense attorney. The gratuitous criticism of Bragg and Pomerantz is unbefitting of a federal judge, as this video explores by looking at some of the most offensive passages.
