George Santos finally admits he committed fraud in Brazil

Rock guitar legend and hall of fame hulahooper, George Santos, is formally confessing to the crime of committing check fraud, agreeing to pay damages to his victim in Rio de Janeiro. Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy has refused to discipline the serial fraudster in any way, but in his defense, he's probably exhausted from licking the boots of the serial fraudster who tried lead a violent insurrection against the United States.

Take Action: Remove McCarthy as Leader for his role in the January 6th insurrection!

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump issues most dangerous threat yet in unhinged public meltdown

The failed former president has ratcheted up the rhetoric against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, warning on his social media platform of "potential death and destruction" if he's indicted by the New York grand jury investigating his illegal hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels. It's tempting to dismiss this as just more desperate rhetoric from a scared, enfeebled man with no care for norms or institutions, but we saw what happened on January 6th, so we hope authorities are treating this seriously.

Take Action: Charge Donald Trump!

A real progressive champion is coming to Congress!

Lateefah Simon: Lateefah Simon is running for an open seat in Northern California, and we could not be more excited! She has been a hugely effective community leader on public transit, affordable housing, and working people. Please consider making a contribution to her campaign.

Michigan repeals deceptively named "right-to-work" law in massive victory for workers and unions
Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed the law, overturning the GOP's silver bullet anti-union law that's been so successfully implemented in Republican-controlled states across the country. The maliciously misnamed "right-to-work" laws are designed to weaken unions' ability to fight for workers, and Michigan is now the first state to axe one of the laws in 60 years – a huge win for workers’ rights.

Take Action: Tell Congress to pass the PRO Act and protect workers' rights!

Manhattan DA receives death threat in letter with white powder
Just hours after Trump issued his threat of "death and destruction" to his followers on his social media platform (see above), the Manhattan district attorney's office received a package containing a suspicious white powder and a message that read, "Alvin—I'll kill you." Thankfully, emergency personnel arrived and removed the package before any harm could be done, but given the course Trump is on, it's only a matter of time before someone really gets hurt – or worse.

Take Action: Disqualify Trump from holding public office!

Judge orders Trump associates to testify before January 6th grand jury

U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell ruled that Trump's former inner circle, including former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, National Security Advisor John Ratcliffe, and white nationalist advisor Stephen Miller, can no longer hide behind non-existent executive privilege protections that don’t cover former presidents' lackeys. They must testify before the criminal grand jury investigating Trump's role in the plot to overturn the 2020 election and tell them what they knew, and when they knew it. About. Damn. Time.

Take Action: Kick Fox News off the air for inciting violence against the government!

Democrats call Marjorie Taylor Greene's bluff and ruin her 1/6 prison visit stunt
The MAGA Republican pulling Kevin McCarthy’s strings tried to conduct another dog and pony show at a DC jail where defendants awaiting trial for their roles in the January 6th insurrection are being held. A pair of Democratic lawmakers, however, crashed her party and toured the facility with her. You're not going to believe this, but Reps. Robert Garcia of California and Jasmine Crockett of Texas told reporters, “These are people that are being treated quite fairly,” a stark contrast to the “human rights abuses” MTG insists prisoners are being subjected to.

No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen: What a dumb move...

🚨 Brian Tyler Cohen launched a Spanish YouTube channel! The left has a huge problem reaching Spanish speaking audiences, and our vote share among Spanish speakers is actually declining, so please spread the Democrats' message by subscribing to his channel (and watch some videos to get them going in the algorithm) by clicking here.

First Republic Bank paid founder and family millions in years leading up to collapse
James Herbert, who founded the now-failed bank in 1985, was paid $17.8 million in 2021 – much much more than CEOs at similarly-sized banks – while his son managed to pull in $3.5 million directing a lending unit, and a consulting firm owned by his brother-in-law racked up $2.3 million from First Republic for "advisory work," according to the Wall Street Journal. This is all in addition to already revealed bombshells that top executives dumped stock in the weeks and months before last week's collapse.

House GOP passes "parents bill of right" dog whistle to anti-trans, anti-Black radicals
One in eight US children go to bed hungry, and gun violence is now the leading cause of death for Americans under 18. Republicans have responded by giving kids the middle finger and using them as proxies in an anti-LGBTQ culture war crusade to rile up the most hateful elements of the Republican base. Specifically this bill would allow a single bigoted parent to dictate what kids are allowed to learn in public schools, but it is really just lack-of-virtue signaling. It won't get a vote in the Senate, and if it did somehow make it through the chamber, President Biden would veto it so hard the resolute desk would never be the same.

Trump's next rally exposed as plot to instigate anti-government extremists
The disgraced former president has chosen Waco, Texas for his rally today, smack dab in the middle of the 30th anniversary of the Waco massacre, when an attempted raid by federal agents on a religious cult that had barricaded themselves inside a remote compound resulted in a 51-day siege that ended in a fire that left dozens dead. The event has long been used as a rallying cry for right-wing anti-government extremists, and it was explicitly cited by the white nationalist terrorist behind the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing as justification for that heinous crime. Spoiler alert: It's not a coincidence.

AOC shreds Republicans over Rosa Parks book ban during impassioned speech
Speaking in opposition to the so-called "parents bill of rights" legislation passed Friday (see above), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez admonished the GOP for their misplaced priorities. "'The Life of Rosa Parks' – this book is apparently too woke for the Republican Party. When we talk about progressive values, I can say what my progressive value is, and that is freedom over fascism."
