Trump's desperate and dangerous posts, and DOJ's deafening silence

History often repeats itself, but generally not as quickly as it seems to be this time. After Donald Trump expressly advocated, encouraged and directed a violent attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, in an attempt to unlawfully retain the power of the presidency, he's at it again. Trump just reposted something one of his supporters posted, expressly advocating violence yet again in the event Trump is not made president in 2024. What's even more surprising than Trump's continued calls to violence is the continued inaction of the Department of Justice to hold Trump accountable for his last insurrection. This inaction is especially inexplicable in light of a ruling from a federal court judge that Donald Trump committed two federal felonies in connection with his last attempt to unconstitutionally remain in office: obstructing an official proceeding and conspiracy to defraud or commit offenses against the United States. Will the DOJ really await a SECOND attack on our democracy before acting to hold Trump accountable for his crimes?
