One of my top priorities as Governor is making sure North Carolinians have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
One resource that every last one of us deserves is affordable, high-quality health care — and I’ve made it my mission to make that care more accessible by expanding Medicaid.
Republican legislative leaders for years have blocked Medicaid Expansion, even going so far as suing me as we tried to move it forward. Now they say they are for it, but they still haven’t brought it to a vote.
By expanding Medicaid access in our state, just like 39 states and D.C. have already, 600,000 more North Carolinians could get covered. And for every month we don’t pass the expansion, our state actually loses $521 million. That is as cruel as it is irresponsible.
We just can’t let it stand.
We all know that keeping folks healthy is good for our communities, good for our economy, and simply the right thing to do.
If you agree, I need you to sign my petition calling for all our state legislators to unite in support of Medicaid expansion today. I’d like to see at least 500 signatures by tomorrow!

Thank you for joining with me in support of such a critical investment in North Carolina’s future.
Three quick things you need to know —
- The North Carolina state Supreme Court JUST agreed to reopen critical cases that struck down an anti-voter law and Republicans’ ultra-gerrymandered legislative maps.
- If the right-wing Court majority sides with the GOP, NC Democrats will face an uneven playing field in elections to come.
- Raleigh Republicans need to pick up just ONE state House seat for veto-proof supermajorities in both legislative chambers.
Roy Cooper is working tirelessly to BREAK the GOP’s hold on our legislature in the next election, but Republicans and the right-wing Court are stacking the odds against us. We had to INCREASE our mid-month fundraising target to $25,000 to fight back.
Thanks,
Team Cooper
