Daily Dose of Democracy:
After Martha's Vineyard stunt, Florida lawmakers give DeSantis $10 MILLION more to traffic migrants
The Republican supermajority in the state legislature has granted Gov. Ron DeSantis $10 million and broad authority to hunt down and move migrants in OTHER STATES to so-called immigrant "sanctuary cities" outside Florida. Why spend money actually helping vulnerable people in need when you can waste MILLIONS of dollars vilifying them for short-term political gain?
VIDEO OF THE DAY: Marjorie Taylor Greene loses it in jaw-dropping statement
The QAnon congresswoman from Georgia, last seen and heard heckling Joe Biden like a petulant child at last week's State of the Union, just can't believe constituents and random people alike come up to her and question her over the batshit crazy things she literally — and repeatedly — says out loud. The horror!

"Socialism" is Their Favorite Scare Word But Do They Even Know What it Means!?
No Dem Left Behind: Help put a stop to McCarthy's MAGA agenda and defend Social Security and other vital programs by making sure we have the organizing infrastructure to flip red votes blue across rural America.
Trump hired a research firm to "prove" 2020 election fraud. They found no evidence
Folks, you might want to sit down for this one. The Berkeley Research Group, commissioned by Trump's 2020 campaign team to prove the very stable genius' electoral fraud claims, failed to substantiate his myriad theories. The results were conveniently never released.

Missouri Republican lawmakers vote AGAINST banning children from carrying guns in public
Missouri House Republicans thoroughly rejected a proposal banning CHILDREN from carrying guns without adult supervision by a staggering tally of 104-39. Furthermore, since 2017, state residents have not been required to take safety training, undergo a criminal background check, or even have a gun permit to carry concealed firearms in most public places. What could possibly continue to go horribly wrong?

Grumpy, fired, 76-year-old Florida man preemptively complaining about Rihanna's Super Bowl halftime performance
Donald Trump launched a pathetic attack on "NO TALENT" pop star Rihanna ahead of her performance at tonight's Super Bowl halftime show. Surely, the disgraced ex-president's opinion on the matter has nothing to do with Rihanna's outspoken disapproval of Trump or her insistence that he stop using her music at his stupid pep rallies. Rihanna, one of the best-selling artists of all time, has sold 60 million albums and 215 million digital tracks worldwide.
Union: Fired EMTs didn’t get enough info in Nichols response
Thomas Malone, president of the Memphis Fire Fighters Association, accused officers on the scene — who called for medical assistance for a pepper-spray incident — of withholding critical information from first responders, laying blame for the unconscionable lack of urgency squarely at the feet of the Memphis Police Department.

Tennessee House GOP admonishes newly elected Black state lawmaker for cultural attire, suggests he find a different career
Democratic Rep. Justin Pearson walked onto the House floor this week wearing traditional West African garb, and was predictably met with immediate disdain from Republicans, who suggested he find a different career that matched his style. Pearson, a 26-year-old community organizer, responded swiftly, saying "we have to realize there are other expressions too, and to say there’s only one that need to be seen here is really saying there’s only one type of person that needs to be here.” Mic drop.
US and Canada military shoot down new unidentified object
Another unidentified object was shot down after entering North American airspace, the third such incursion in the past week. The American military destroyed a Chinese balloon last weekend, and on Friday an unspecified object the size of a small car was shot down off the coast of Alaska. The latest unspecified object was flying over central Yukon in northwest Canada roughly 100 miles from the Alaskan border and posed a "reasonable threat to civilian aviation" before American and Canadian authorities authorized fighter jets to shoot it down.
