Fighting back secured the PACT Act

 

President Biden just signed the PACT Act into law. This is a huge win for veterans, service members, and our country. After more than 10 years of advocacy, organizing, and mobilizing, this historic legislation will finally give veterans a chance for a better life. The PACT Act is a game changer for us. Veterans will finally be able to receive much needed benefits and coverage from the VA for illnesses stemming from being exposed to burn pits and other toxic substances in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. After risking their lives and health for our country, our service members deserve the highest level of care. Still, 11 senators and 88 representatives voted against this critical legislation, all Republicans. Here at Common Defense, we fight tirelessly to improve the lives of veterans, service members, and their families. This is a historic moment, But our work doesn't end here. This legislation will save lives. When we come together to fight back against extremist Republicans that hold our health and wellbeing hostage, we can and will make a difference. That’s why we can't stop now.
