Why the FL governor’s race will be so close

We’ve been saying since the very beginning that this race would be close — which also means every single dollar donated could be the difference between defeating Ron DeSantis or watching him propel his reelection into a campaign for the White House. Here’s why:

• First off, DeSantis isn’t as popular as you might think. In fact, he only won his last election by less than half a point, making him extremely vulnerable against a strong grassroots movement.


• Plus, polling data from the very beginning has shown an extremely tight race. A recent poll conducted by a Republican group even found DeSantis losing to Charlie by a very close margin.


• And you don’t just have to take it from us. A staff writer for The Atlantic recently wrote that it’s a very competitive race, and that Florida is still “pretty swingy.”

But while all of this is good news, we still have to put in the hard work each and every day until Election Day to make sure Charlie comes out on top. And with far-right billionaires pumping huge amounts of cash into DeSantis’ war chest (he recently announced he has more than $100 million in the bank), we’re going to need all the help we can to fight back.
