The cost of this is incalculable

 

Right-wing Republicans — including Ron DeSantis — are enacting changes that are hurting our country. But it’s more than just that. The far-right agenda is actively harming people, and the human cost is incalculable.

The Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, upending the lives of MILLIONS, and destroying nearly 50 years of established precedent.

Ron DeSantis himself has already signed an extreme 15-week abortion ban into law — with no exceptions for rape or incest.

And our state legislature stands firmly on the side of anti-choice extremism.

It’s immoral. It’s wrong. And it breaks my heart.

We must protect reproductive rights in Florida. We must defeat Ron DeSantis. If you can, please contribute a few dollars to my campaign right away.

This will have a devastating impact, likely beyond the scope of our imagination. It could lead to cruel laws which would criminalize abortion and even throw women in jail. It could mean politicians can pass sweeping bans with no exceptions for rape, incest, or risk of life to the mother.

I am unwavering on this: The government has no place in telling a woman what she can and cannot do with her body.

Early in my career, I stopped a bill in the state Senate that would require a 24-hour waiting period for those seeking an abortion. Then, as Governor, I vetoed an anti-abortion bill.

And, I promise you this: I’ll do it again.
