Today’s Action: Tell Uvalde to fire the police officers who stood around while children were murdered!
As the horrifying story of the massacre at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, was pieced together, it became abundantly clear that local police failed to honor their sworn duty to protect the innocent and — through abject inaction — enabled the killer to continue his horrific slaughter unabated.
Video footage shows the police cordon off the school and stand around while the shooter continues his horrific rampage, ignoring desperate pleas from parents to save their kids and even threatening and detaining parents who attempt to enter the school themselves. Uvalde police stood around and did nothing for more than FORTY MINUTES. It took a heroic, off-duty Border Patrol member to charge in and finally end the massacre.
Call (830-278-3315) or write cityhall@uvaldetx.com and demand they fire the police officers who harassed terrified parents instead of doing their jobs and stopping the shooter! Send them this petition with over 220,000 signatures demanding their termination!
The police have changed their story several times already, offering contradictory accounts of their actions — or lack thereof. Given the policing community’s proclivity for distorting the truth — or just shamelessly lying — it’s not difficult to assume the Uvalde police are covering for their cowardice and incompetence.
The town of Uvalde spends 40% of their municipal budget on their police force. With that level of funding, they can surely do better when it comes to protecting and serving the community.
