“We’ve got lots of theories. We just don’t have the evidence.”
That’s what Rudy Giuliani — the former New York City mayor who became Donald Trump’s personal attorney — admitted as he tried to coerce the top Republican in the Arizona House of Representatives to break the law so that Trump could remain in power.
- We learned this in sworn testimony during yesterday’s bipartisan congressional committee investigating the criminal conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election.
- We also learned that Giuliani likened two Black election workers in Georgia — Shaye Moss and her mother, Ruby Freeman — to heroin dealers and “hustlers” as he falsely accused them of election fraud.
- Trump himself repeated these baseless allegations of fraud against the women, who have endured harassment and threats — including hints that they could be lynched — ever since.
- As Freeman testified, “There is nowhere I feel safe. Nowhere. Do you know how it feels to have the president of the United States target you?”
The January 6 hearings are exposing the corruption, malice, and potential criminality of Rudy Giuliani’s actions in service of the Big Lie and Donald Trump’s attempt to illegally overturn the 2020 election.
What do you think?
Add your name if you agree that Rudy Giuliani must be held accountable for each and every crime he committed as part of Donald Trump’s attempted coup d’etat.
Thank you for taking action.
For democracy,
- Robert Weissman, President of Public Citizen
