"They paved paradise and put up a parking lot"

Time is running out to double your impact

“They paved paradise and put up a parking lot.”

Working to protect public land often leads me to reflect on these lyrics from the classic Joni Mitchell song "Big Yellow Taxi." Every day, we lose 6,000 acres of land to real estate development, and by 2050 our country could lose 23 million acres of forest—enough trees to cover the entire state of Indiana. Sites of profound meaning to America are disappearing.

But today, you have a chance to help Trust for Public Land reverse this troubling trend.

That’s why I’m asking you to make a renewal gift now and help TPL gain much-needed funding before our May 27 deadline—which is less than five days away!

We envision an America where everyone can connect to the outdoors in their community and in the great open spaces. We partner with people in communities across the country to help plan their conservation priorities, assist in funding their visions, protect the lands and waters they value, and create the parks and trails they need to thrive.

And we need your help today to make a more resilient and livable environment for people everywhere.

Your tax-deductible donation today will be matched dollar for dollar and will help fund our ambitious five-year plan to conserve 1 million acres of land, protect 1,000 miles of rivers, and build or connect 1,000 miles of trails across America by 2025.

Time is running out on our matching gift offer, so please make a gift today.

Sincerely,
