Cheri Beasley is the partner I need in Washington to secure our right to vote, protect our environment, and deliver for the people of our state.
Just like I said when I appointed her to be our state’s Chief Justice, Cheri Beasley is the right person at the right time. So I am personally asking you to help her start the general election strong:
National Republicans are already on the air attacking her with a shameful ad meant to mislead voters about her decades of service to our state. Far-right super PACs have pledged nearly $50 million to try to buy this seat for their extremist candidate Ted Budd.
But despite pumping millions into our state already, a poll just last week showed Cheri and Ted Budd in a dead heat. North Carolinians are not buying it from these Republican super PACs.
I know what it takes to win statewide in North Carolina, and we could not ask for a better candidate than Cheri to flip this seat. She’s overcome tough challenges before and won statewide twice already. So with our support, I know she can pull off a historic victory in November.
Cheri and I have both had races come down to a small number of votes. That’s just how these races go in North Carolina.
In a race as competitive as this one, a handful of votes on Election Day could make all the difference. That means every dollar we donate, every door we knock, and every voter we register will matter.
